Article 19 of the ICCPR states that “Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of (their) choice.” This right requires that all governments meet their responsibility to ensure that no one is silenced or excluded simply because they lack access to communication technology.

And Thank God Gaza is back…..
Please keep spreading the news, for the structural cuts of electricity, water, communications (all human rights) need to stop definitly and soon. Due to electricity cuts many people lost their lives due to lack of possible treatments like dialysis etc, people in need not able to call ambulances or doctors, and for years now increasingly, 90% of the water is polluted and Gaza is not able to repair the systems because of the blockade and restrictions of import of required materials for repairs. Which causes many water born diseases.
So please stay spreading the news and the call for lifting of the siege from land AND sea as well as an immediate stop on restricting communications, water, food, electrictity and all basic neccessities!
█▌ Update Aug 12, 2011 : Hasbarapocalyps! With the headline “Did Israel just stop ‘spectacular’ terror attack?” now an Israeli reporter of (and only in) WorldNetDaily claims full resposibility for the cut of all electricity, communications for these would be the key blocking of a major terror attack which would have destroyed whole Gaza AND Israel! So while IOF spokespersons and even Israeli media kept denying all involvement, and we surely did not see any other coverage of this magnum opus of hasbarbaric explanation… read it here:
“The Egyptian officials said they have information that Israel was actually working to stop a cross border attack aimed at the fuel pipeline. The officials said the downing of communications inside Gaza was central to halting the attack.”
It is quite clear, Israel, which has been successful for 63 years in hiding it’s atrocities is exposed and thus now threatening even openly by social media. But in increasing way, also is silencing those who try to bring truth out. That is, if they get in the country. All are aware of the latest attempts of (Air)flotilla’s and more. Not that ships or suitcases cannot be searched. It is all about not getting in so you cannot recall to another when you get HOME!
▶ Israeli Soldier: “We follow you at Twitter!” (at 2:47 min) – video http://t.co/jEgdESv
Which clearly indicates, Israel feels the need of defending its myths by following tweeps who exercise their humanright of relating their experiences in their town via internet to others. But it went on:
And besides the blackout in Gaza, in the West Bank Today:
▶ And also today at Walajeh in the West Bank, 2 tweeps got arrested at a social justice demo:
The last tweet of @almagdela said:
“11 detained in #walajeh are forced to turn off their phones now”
In the meanwhile also Samer Allawi , correspondent of Al-Jazeera was arrested by Israel today on his way to Jordan. Attacks on Palestinians and international press, journalists as well as photographers are increasingly reported as well.
Beside the physicial siege and blockade of all related, these new “tricks” disguised as “accident” “cablebreaks” and more, not allowing phonecompanies to repair without permits, are posing a mental siege and severe pschological stress on all those inside world’s largest open air prison, whos ways “out” only are … telecommunition. This can NOT BE. While attacking and detaining or even preventing press, social networking activists take over where the mainstream media on the ground is not present. It’s a right to inform your friends and all those interested in a person’s tweets, posts, mails etc. So we ask to spread this appeal very widely and foreward it to your representatives:
