GAZA, (PIC)– The Israeli prison service (IPS) has transferred the Palestinian prisoner Ala’a Abu Jazar from Nafha jail to an unknown location for leading Fatah prisoners in the hunger strike.
The Wa’ed society for prisoners said in a statement on Sunday evening that the transfer targets aborting the hunger strike and persuading the Fatah prisoners not to join it, noting that Abu Jazar was one of the biggest supporters of the strike.
The society said that all IPS measures to foil the strike including transfers, confiscating personal belongings of prisoners, and imposing punishments did not succeed in ending the strike.
Wa’ed said that all isolated prisoners had joined the strike, and called on the media to provide extensive coverage of the event, which, it said, would boost the prisoners’ morale.
