AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– A group of the occupation soldiers and officers, dressed in civilian clothes, tried to reach the shrines of the prophets and their wives in the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil (southern West Bank) in order to perform Talmudic rituals there.
The legal office of Hebron Rehabilitation Committee quoted Hijazi Abu Sneineh, head custodian in the Ibrahimi Mosque, as saying that this group was on a visit to the Ibrahimi Mosque, on Monday according to arrangements agreed upon between the Directorate of Endowments and Israeli military liaison. Yet some of them reached to shrines to perform their rituals.
Abu Sneineh added that the custodians of the Ibrahimi Mosque tried to stop them, and contacted the Directorate of Endowments, which in turn contacted the military liaison which stopped the soldiers and officers.
