OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The follow-up committee in the village of Issawiya denounced the arrests and raids campaign carried out by the occupation forces in recent times, which led to terrorizing the residents and children.
The committee member Mohammed Abu Hummus told PIC reporter in Jerusalem on Sunday morning that the Israeli attack on the village of Issawiya is aimed at silencing the people not to reveal the ongoing arrests and assaults and violations.
He pointed out that during the last two weeks 70 citizens have been arrested, some of them were subjected to house arrest, and others were still detained, while four other detainees were taken to hospitals because of abuse.
Abu Hummus called on local and foreign human rights organizations to intervene to stop the Israeli attacks on the village of Issawiya.
For his part, Kareem Jubran, a field researcher with the B’Tselem human rights institution pointed out that among the issues that have been documented during the current events in Isawiya, more than one case of assault by the Israeli occupation forces on children.
Jubran said in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Jerusalem, that they work on documenting the continuing escalation and throwing tear gas inside residential neighborhoods, stressing that they follow up what is happening in Issawiya.
Jubran asked the occupation authorities to deal lawfully and especially with minors, and to take into account their rights during the arrest processes, calling on IOF not to conduct nightly arrests against children, especially that it is prohibited according to Israeli law.
