GAZA, (PIC)– Palestinian minister of religious affairs Ismail Radwan strongly denounced the Israeli remarks made by an official from the Jewish Home party about the demolition of the Dome of the Rock of the Aqsa Mosque.
“We are deeply and seriously concerned about such incitement because it heralds a plan and a hostile intent against the Aqsa Mosque,” Radwan stated on Saturday.
He warned of dire consequences in the region if anything happens to the Aqsa Mosque and called on the Palestinian natives of the holy city to be more vigilant and get ready for any Israeli escalation against the Mosque.
A Hebrew TV channel quoted right-wing Knesset member Jeremy Gimpel, who is expected to enter the next Knesset according to recent polls, as saying that the Dome of Rock must be destroyed in order to build what he described as the third Jewish Temple.
Gimpel made his remarks in a lecture in Florida, the channel said.
