JENIN, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) renewed on Monday the administrative detention, without trial, of a Palestinian lecturer at the open Quds University in Jenin.
The international Tadamun foundation for human rights said in a press release that the Israeli military commander issued an order, at the request of the Shabak, for the renewal of Dr. Mohammed Al-Sayyed’s detention for six months.
The Israeli military prosecution justified the renewal by saying that Saayed, 47, posed dangers to the public security and was a member of Hamas, Tadamun said, adding that the accusations were completely untrue.
Israeli occupation forces arrested Sayyed, a father of six children, from his home in Kufr Ra’ee village, Jenin, on 30/1/2012. He was sentenced to seven months in jail after which he was retained in administrative custody that was renewed twice.
