Al-KHALIL, (PIC)– Three Palestinian citizens were wounded and another was taken prisoner during Israeli military raids at dawn Monday on homes in Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem city.
Local sources reported that Israeli soldiers physically assaulted three Palestinian citizens and arrested another during a campaign in Aida refugee camp.
The sources added that the three wounded citizens were taken to a hospital, while the detainee was taken to an unknown place.
In a separate incident, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnapped on the same day at dawn eight Palestinians in the cities of Al-Khalil, Nablus and Tulkarem.
Local sources said the IOF raided homes in Beit Ummar town to the north of Al-Khalil and kidnapped three Palestinian young men. The detainees were taken in chain to Etzion outpost.
The IOF also launched violent raids on homes in Urif and Hawara areas, south of Nablus, and took three Palestinian young men prisoners.
They also kidnapped two others from the western neighborhood in Tulkarem city.
In a related context, Al-Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights said the first half of 2013 saw the detention of 1,790 Palestinian citizens and the killing of 16 others by the IOF.
According to its report, 300 of these detainees were kidnapped during last June.
Among the detainees were women, children, elders, lawmakers, university lecturers, journalists and dignitaries.
The report noted that most of the arrests took place in the West Bank and Jerusalem, except for 25 detainees who were taken prisoners either at checkpoints near Gaza or off its coast.
