GAZA, (PIC)– First deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council Dr. Ahmed Bahar has reiterated rejection of futile negotiations with the Israeli occupation authority (IOA).

Bahar, who was delivering a statement at a ceremony hosted by the Awkaf and religious affairs ministry in Gaza on Saturday evening, called on de facto Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas to immediately withdraw from negotiations with the IOA out of respect for Palestinian martyrs and prisoners.

He said that Israel does not want peace but only targets wiping out Palestinian resistance and the entire Palestinian cause.

Bahar, a Hamas leader, said that he supported reconciliation in its capacity as a national, political, humanitarian, and social necessity. He added, however, that reconciliation should be based on political partnership and on protection of resistance and national constants.

Bahar: We support reconciliation not negotiations.
