PLC member: U.S. guarantees a blatant bribe for Israel

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Palestinian Legislative Council member Mohammed Abu Juheisha said that guarantees made by special U.S. envoy to the Mideast George Mitchell hoping to freeze settlements for two additional months are “no more than a blatant bribe for Israel”.

Abu Juheisha said in a statement Monday that the U.S. envoy is “biased to Israeli interests and is not be trusted”.

The PA and the Arab League’s Arab Follow Up Committee have made a great mistake when they agreed to go into peace talks, the MP said, adding that it is best for the Palestinian negotiator “before the ax lands on the head” to turn back on the already proven unsuccessful peace talks and tell the Palestinian people the truth.

“Mitchell’s frantic shuttle tours in Arab capitals to convince them of the value and importance of negotiations is only a trick,” Abu Juheisha went on to say.

“Those countries must work for the safety of the Palestinians and protect the land, the holy sites, and Palestinian rights.”

Netanyahu’s promises by which he tempts Abbas are only a trap to pave the way for serious PA back-downs on the land and holy sites.

He called for Palestinian reconciliation, calling it the top national priority, but asserted that it must not be dictated by the crisis.

He added that good will initiatives must be taken by the PA by stopping political arrests and baseless trials against Hamas supporters and freeing unlawfully arrested detainees.
