ISTANBUL, (PIC)– The second conference of the Palestinian business forum held in Istanbul urged the Palestinian and Arab businessmen to actively adopt development projects in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The conference highlighted the importance of supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinians in Jerusalem in the face of Israel’s displacement and Judaization campaigns.

The conference called in its closing statement on the Turkish government to facilitate the investments made by Palestinian businessmen in Turkey and strengthen mechanisms of communication between them and other businessmen in the Arab and Muslim countries.

The statement also called for activating the mechanisms of supporting reconstruction efforts in the besieged Gaza Strip and encouraging Palestinian businessmen to establish small businesses for the poor families in Gaza.

Other recommendations that support the Palestinian people throughout the occupied Palestinian territories and in the refugee camps were included in the closing statement.

The conference kicked off on Tuesday under the title “Towards a Turkish-Palestinian partnership in the business world” with the participation of the international business forum and the association of independent Turkish businessmen and industrialists.

About 800 businessmen from Palestine, the Arab world, Turkey, Europe, China, Australia and Canada attended the conference. The conferees declared the launch of businessmen for Jerusalem association.

For his part, head of the Palestinian business forum Abu Obeida Hafez stated that this conference was intended to create a true partnership and cooperation between the Palestinian businessmen at home and abroad and Turkish businessmen, expecting that the Turkish products may replace soon the Israeli ones.
