OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Al-Maqdesi for society development (MSD) organization said it filed a complaint with the UN human rights council in Geneva to prevent Israel from exiling four Jerusalemite elected officials from their native city.

MSD noted it took this step after it issued a statement illustrating the legal position of the Jerusalemite officials, three lawmakers and one former minister, and refuting Israeli justifications for its decision to expel them from the holy city.

The MSD called on the human rights council to assume its responsibilities towards these Palestinian officials and pressure Israel to refrain from deporting them, especially lawmaker Mohamed Abu Tir, who is imprisoned in its jails.

It also said that it embarked on preparing many complaints against Israel’s illegal practices in Jerusalem, especially the demolition of Palestinian homes and the violations committed against their political, civil, economic, social and cultural rights.
