PJC asks PLO to sack Abbas over recent statements

STOCKHOLM, (PIC)– The Sweden-based Palestinian Justice Center (PJC) has urged the PLO’s executive committee to sack its chief Mahmoud Abbas, who is the de facto Palestinian president, over his recent statement in an interview with an Israeli TV channel.

Abbas had declared readiness to renounce historical Palestinian rights and end the conflict with Israel in return for the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

The center said in a press release on Wednesday that Abbas’s statement was in violation of all Palestinian red lines and national constants in addition to contravening the Palestinian people’s rights and went contrary to national unanimity other than offering “serious concessions” to the Israeli occupation.

Abbas’s term in office had expired and thus he has no right to represent the Palestinian people, the center emphasized.

The PJC urged all Palestinian forces and institutions to adopt a “firm stand” against the current negotiations formula.
