NAZARETH, (PIC)– Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib, the deputy head of the Islamic movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, has predicted that the internal Palestinian reconciliation would fail soon after its accomplishment.

He told Al-Quds TV satellite channel on Monday night that certain persons had linked their interest to that of the Israeli occupation and would thus foil the reconciliation.

The Sheikh said that the holy Aqsa Mosque was in need of united Palestinian efforts to defend it, noting that Jerusalemites would defend the holy site until the “last drop of their blood”.

Hamas leader in Gaza Ismail Radwan had announced that a second Hamas-Fatah meeting would be held in Damascus next Tuesday to discuss the final pending issue of security apparatuses before signing the reconciliation agreement.

Khatib expects failure of reconciliation.
