RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) held Omar Al-Barghouthi in administrative detention for six months, his family members said on Thursday.

They said that the Ofer military court ordered his administrative custody in Ofer jail, adding that his lawyer intends to appeal the decision within the few coming days.

Omar, the brother of the longest serving Palestinian prisoners Na’el Al-Barghouthi, had served 25 years in IOA jails and was released recently. He was detained by the PA in Ramallah for a few days and one day after his release he was captured by the IOA.

Well informed sources said that Barghouthi’s detention followed understanding between the PA militias and the IOA in their joint quest to cripple resistance and to detain anyone suspected of supporting it in words or in deeds.
