OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Hundreds of Jerusalem residents performed the Friday prayers at the Bustan sit-in tent in the Jerusalem suburb of Silwan and outside the Red Cross compound where three Jerusalem officials threatened with deportation are holding a sit-in for the past 128 days.

Local sources said that the occupation police intensified its presence around the protest tent at Bustan neighbourhood which witnessed clashes between occupation police and local Palestinian youth last night. The youth have reportedly damaged an army jeep before occupation troops in large numbers were deployed forcing the youth back and towing the damaged jeep away. The youth threw stones and empty bottles at the occupation police and soldiers who responded by firing rubber coated bullets and teargas canisters.

In the Aqsa Mosque the Imam, Sheikh Yousef Abu Sneinah said during the Friday sermon said the IOF should stop their aggressions against Palestinian captives in occupation jails.

He called for support to those captives by keeping their issue alive in the international and regional forums.

He also condemned the crimes committed daily by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.
