GAZA, (PIC)– Dr. Ismail Radwan, a Hamas leader, has asked the Arab League follow up committee not to provide more support for the Fatah authority’s talks with Israel.

He said in a statement on Wednesday that the committee should lift its cover for any new frivolous talks with Israel, which would only bring more aggression on the Palestinian people.

The Hamas leader urged Fatah and its leader, de facto president, Mahmoud Abbas, not to beg for a new Arab cover for such talks that would only lead to wasting Palestinian rights.

The Arab committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday in Cairo to discuss Arab and Palestinian options after the US failed to convince Israel to freeze settlement in preparation for resuming direct talks between Abbas and Israel.

Radwan said that the negotiations process only serves Israel, charging that Fatah’s insistence on such talks reflected its insincerity regarding reconciliation and that it preferred talks with Israel to national interest.

Radwan asks Arab committee to end support for negotiations.
