SANA’A, (PIC)– First deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC) Dr. Ahmed Bahr called on de facto president Mahmoud Abbas to renounce the settlement process he described as humiliating and frivolous and to work on ending the inter-Palestinian division or to step down from his post.

Dr. Bahr made his remarks during his visit to Sana’a and his meeting on Saturday with Yemeni officials, dignitaries and representatives of the Palestinian community.

The visit was aimed to brief the Palestinian community and the Yemeni society on the humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The first deputy speaker highlighted during his visit the violations committed by the Palestinian authority (PA) against its people in the West Bank and its security cooperation with the Israeli occupation.

The lawmaker urged the Palestinian community and the Yemeni pro-Palestinian institutions to play an active role in mobilizing the efforts and making pressures to end the Israeli siege on Gaza and exposing the conspiracies being hatched against its people.

Bahr calls on Abbas to step down if he is unable to end Palestinian division.
