SANA’A, (PIC)– A Palestinian parliamentary delegation led by first deputy speaker Dr. Ahmed Bahar met on Sunday with the Yemeni parliament speaker Yehya Al-Ra’ee for a discussion of the Arab parliaments’ role in face of the siege on Gaza Strip.

Bahar said that the talks tackled means of upgrading Arab parliamentary efforts and positions to confront challenges facing the Palestinian people especially in the Gaza Strip, which is reeling under unparalleled oppressive siege in modern history.

He said that the Arab parliaments should bypass the passiveness and complications of the official Arab stands, which are ineffective and subdued by American hegemony.

The Palestinian people are pinning great hopes on the Arab peoples to confront the Israeli siege and aggression, which has reached an unprecedented degree, Bahar underscored.

He thanked the Yemeni leadership, parliament, and people for their support for the Palestinian people, hoping that they would intensify such support for the sacred cause of Palestine.

The Yemeni speaker, for his part, welcomed the Palestinian parliamentary visit to his country, affirming that Palestine constitutes the topmost concern for Yemen and the Arab and Islamic countries in general.
