NABLUS, (PIC)– Former Palestinian minister Wasfi Qabha said that militia men from the Palestinian Authority (PA) intercepted and harrassed him along with Hamas leader Khaled Al-Hajj as they were heading for Friday prayers..

Qabha told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the militias searched the car they were aboard, checked their IDs and confiscated a cell phone from Hajj, adding that he and his guests are stalked and under constant surveillance by PA militias.

He denounced the restrictions imposed by the PA on the lives of West Bank people and called for stopping suppressing and arresting citizens because of their political affiliations.

For their part, the Hamas lawmakers in the West Bank deplored the PA for assaulting Qabha and Hajj yesterday.

They said the assault on national leaders like Qabha and Hajj is a result of the remarks made last Thursday by Fatah official Azzam Al-Ahmed who said the PA would use a new strategy with Hamas in the West Bank.
