Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) — In what has become common practice, the Israeli military attempted to prevent medics from reaching those injured in the clashes that gripped Silwan yesterday, say paramedics. Wisam Hamouda, a paramedic who was present at the clashes, told Silwanic that Israeli soldiers refused his ambulance access to the scene. When the ambulance was ordered to enter from another route, Hamouda states that an Israeli jeep sped after the ambulance and even tried to ram the medical vehicle from behind. Paramedics, fearing confrontation, were forced to withdraw from the area. Hamouda added that this is not the first time that medics have been targeted by the military in Silwan.
