GAZA, (PIC)– Israel carried out in December 2010 more than 105 attacks targeting Gazans, killing 16 and injuring 38, said Adham Abu Salmiyya, spokesman for Gaza’s emergency authority, in an exclusive statement to the PIC.

The Israeli army launched 17 air strikes on the region, some against civilian targets, and 35 artillery shells, amid intense military presence in the strip.

In another form of Israeli aggression, Gazan fisherman suffered 1.5 million dollars in losses since the latest Gaza war, said researcher Abdul Nasser Madi after two months of collecting information from official sources.

Israel closed off the Gaza Sea entirely, for fishermen, for more than 157 days since the siege’s outset in 2007, Madi added. The harvest dropped to half since that year, with 2,702 tons of fish produced in 2007 dwindling to 1525 tons in 2009.

Palestinian fishermen are barred by the occupation to go beyond 3 miles into the sea.
