LONDON, (PIC)– The London-based Palestinian Return Centre denied Wednesday Israeli allegations that the group belongs to a Palestinian faction, calling the accusations baseless.

“The recent media reports concerning the Return Centre are baseless. They only prove the center’s success in achieving its goals regarding the issue of Palestinian refugees’ right of return to their homes,” the center said in a statement it issued.

The statements came in response to an Israeli campaign targeting the center through a report issued by the Israeli war ministry alleging that the Return Centre was a Hamas wing in Europe that conducts terror-linked activities.

The center, denying ties to all political parties inside and outside the UK, said that it is “an academic, advisory institution serving the Palestinian refugees and offering advice to several international institutions and agencies dealing with the issues and problems of Palestinian refugees. The center also holds academic, informational, and research activities in participation with several members of the parliament, ministers, ambassadors, as well as prominent researchers and academics.”

The Palestinian Return Centre enjoys membership of the UN organizations operating for the Palestinian cause and is licensed in the UK and Wales.

The rights center has been active lately in gearing for a series of week-long activities to commemorate Palestinian victims scheduled to kick off January 15 in the UK and will open the week at an international conference titled “the ongoing catastrophe”.
