GAZA, (PIC)– The Israeli military will soon purchase special anti-personnel bombs that will be attached to the air force’s Apache helicopters, the Israeli daily Haaretz said Friday.

The projectiles will be more effective than the US Hellfire anti-tank missiles currently set up on the choppers in targeting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Tensions have been running high on the Israeli-Gazan border. Israel has recently deployed along the boundary a battalion of heavily armed tanks that can shield anti-tank missiles.

Israeli Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi announced earlier that an advanced rocket pinpointed and hit a tank along the border with no report of injury.

The Israeli army has been threatening to kick off a new offensive on the region. Gaza resistance fighters take the threats seriously and are gearing for battle.

The Islamic Jihad Movement’s armed wing the Quds Brigades claimed responsibility for firing 8 mortar shells targeting an Israeli force which was mobilizing near the Nahal Oz military site east of Gaza city on Friday.

“We announce responsibility for the operation to stress the resistance’s right to respond to any Israeli aggression against our people and to proceed to resist and fight till full liberation of our land.”
