Medical sources reported Saturday that a Palestinian woman died Friday night after she was transferred to the hospital because of inhaled tear gas fired by Israeli troops during a demonstration against Israel’s separation barrier in the West Bank. The sources said the victim is Jawahir Abu Rahma (36 years old). The chief Palestinian negotiator, Saeb Erekat, told Agence France Presse: “We strongly condemn this heinous crime committed by the Israeli army in the village of Bil’in against peaceful demonstrations and against a peaceful popular struggle.” He added: “This crime comes in the context of war crimes committed by Israel against the defenseless Palestinian people.”

Jawahir Abu Rahmah was the sister of Bassem Abu Rahmah, who was killed by an extended-range tear gas projectile fired at his chest by occupation soldiers at a demonstration against the separation wall in Bil’in on April 17, 2009.
