Egyptian Analyst Blames Mossad for Blast in Alexandria

TEHRAN (FNA)- A prominent Egyptian strategic expert underlined involvement of Israeli spy agency (Mossad) in the recent terrorist attack in the Egyptian city of Alexandria.

Speaking to FNA about the Friday terrorist attack outside a church in Alexandria, Ahmad Rassem al-Naffis told FNA that Wahhabi Muslims and Mossad have the most interest in the recent bombing outside the al-Qiddissin Church.

He further reminded the capture of a Israeli spies in Egypt last month, and said that investigations into the spy cell case has shown Mossad’s interests in terrorist attacks in Egypt.

In December, Egypt’s state security forces announced that they had arrested three individuals suspected of operating an Israeli spy ring in Egypt.

“The general prosecutor ordered the transfer of three accused persons, who included two Israeli fugitives and one detained Egyptian, to be sent … before the emergency state security supreme criminal court on charges of spying for Israel and harming the country’s national interests,” Egypt’s state news agency said.

The analyst further mentioned that the tactic used for the al-Qiddissin bombing resembles the terrorist tactics used by Mossad and not those used by terrorist organizations such as the al-Qaeda which use suicide bombers for their terrorist attacks.

“Hirelings of the Zionist regime (of Israel) and the US have a hand in the bombing outside the al-Qiddisin Church,” he underscored.

At least 21 people were killed and 70 others were hurt in the attack outside the al-Qiddissin Church, in Alexandria on Friday night. About 1,000 worshippers were attending the Mass at the Church in the Sidi Bechr district of the Mediterranean port city, and as the service ended after midnight a bomb went off in the street outside.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Saturday said the attack bore the hallmark “of foreign hands.”

“All of Egypt is targeted. This blind terrorism does not differentiate between Copts and Muslims,” he said in a televised speech.

Several political and terrorism analysts in Europe have pointed their fingers at Israel, the one implacable regime which is the conspirator behind destabilizing Iraq and the whole region.
