OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Ultra-orthodox Jews staged a graphic conference in west Jerusalem Thursday to discuss erecting the alleged temple on the ruins of Jerusalem’s Aqsa Mosque, the Aqsa Islamic heritage foundation in Jerusalem said Monday.

The Aqsa foundation warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could be behind the movement. Other extremist religious groups have been demanding that Netanyahu fulfill his promise to hold Jewish prayers inside the mosque if he returned to office.

An orthodox Jewish trend, called Haradim, has in the last few weeks become extraordinarily active in attempting to Judaize the Aqsa Mosque, the Aqsa foundation said, adding that right-wing Jewish websites have been posting blogs and images confirming that a conference attended by thousands of Jews was held last Thursday in west Jerusalem devoted to the alleged temple.

One of the Rabanim gave a slide show presentation envisioning the alleged temple being erected on the ruins of the Aqsa Mosque. The conference was sponsored by the biblical education sector of Israel’s Jerusalem municipality.

The websites offered an array of photographs taken at the conference, some of the attendance and more of models of the temple. The Temple Institute, an organization known for its years of preparing for the alleged temple and activities targeting the Aqsa Mosque with raids and attempts to establish Talmudic rituals inside of it, was a key participant.

The UN has recognized the east Jerusalem Aqsa Mosque as an Islamic holy site.
