Palestinian scholars: Persecution of resistance fighters an unforgivable crime

GAZA, (PIC)– The Palestine Scholars League Saturday during a press conference held to mark the second anniversary of Israel’s last war against the Gaza Strip said the Aqsa Mosque is the right of the Islamic people. “We must defend it, and it must remain in the believers’ hearts. They must not be distracted from it even by the other holy sites in Makkah and Medina.”

The scholars League is a non-government organization dedicated to tackling issues in Palestine from a religious perspective.

Marwan Abu Ras, chairing the league, emphasized the need for government officials to make serious efforts in returning Palestinian refugees to their homes and for forging national unification, calling the latter a religious, national, moral, and humanitarian duty.

Palestinians arresting and abusing their Palestinian brothers over political reasons is a great sin in Islam, the religious group said, referring to the targeting of Hamas supporters in the Fatah-controlled West Bank.

The persecution of resistance forces and freedom fighters in order to satisfy the occupying force is an unforgivable crime, the scholars added.

The League called the current detention of women in the West Bank a “crime greater than all crimes”, and called on West Bank scholars to reveal the religious gravity of that.
