Local sources said two missiles struck an area east of Khan Yunis and three more hit Gaza City. No injuries were reported.

According to Israeli news source Ha’aretz, the Israeli military targeted “terrorist sites” used for training and rocket fire. The airstrikes were also an act of retaliation for a mortar shell fired from Gaza on Saturday, which injured three Thai Kibbutz workers.

In related news, five Palestinian workers were wounded, three critically, when an explosion inside a tunnel occurred late Sunday night. The reason for the explosion is still currently unknown, but Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces are investigating.

Around the West Bank on Sunday and Monday, three Palestinians were arrested by Israeli troops in Hebron and the city’s main northern entrance was closed off briefly and Israeli soldiers raided a village west of Jenin, in the northern West Bank , resulting in no arrests.
