GAZA, (PIC)– Dr. Yousef Rezqa, the political advisor to Palestinian Prime Minister in Gaza Ismail Haneyya, said the Palestinian government does not meet with Israelis.

Haneyya never met with an Israeli while in power but only Jews of other nationalities, like Coffman and Goldstone, Rezqa said in a televised response to an announced visit to Gaza by Israeli activist Yual Mershak.

“The Israeli government, in the first place, bans entry of Israelis into the Strip, because it has classified Gaza as a hostile entity. The visit should have addressed the factions who have captured Shalit and not Haneyya,” Rezqa added.

“(Mershak) is not making a humanitarian visit because there are Palestinian captives suffering under so-called Shalit sanctions and from other conditions for more than 30 years. Therefore, comparing Shalit’s situation with Palestinian captives is an illogical comparison,” Rezqa went on to say.

“I don’t know if he is backed by Shin Bet in his visit to Gaza or if he has a special agenda.”

Yual Mershak, an Israeli kibbutz resident, said he received approval from Israeli intelligence to visit Gaza to meet with Prime Minister Haneyya and discuss the issue of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
