NABLUS, (PIC)– Security militias loyal to de facto Palestinian president and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas kidnapped Palestinian physics professor Esam Al-Ashqar on Tuesday evening. Former minister of prisoners Wasfi Qabaha told the PIC that the so-called preventive security militia detained Ashqar, 52, at a roadblock. Ashqar was detained after several summonses by those militias in Nablus, special sources told the PIC. Two of his sons, Mujahid and Anas, are held by those militias while a third, Huthaifa, is held by the Israeli occupation authority. Ashqar was imprisoned in Israeli jails for seven years including two years without trial or charge under administrative detention. |
