GAZA, (PIC)– Ahmed Yousef, a political advisor for the Palestinian Foreign Ministry, called for the presence of foreign language speaking journalists in Gaza to accurately report incidents with good translation.

Yousef, speaking at a seminar titled “Aggression against Gaza and drawing lessons”, organized by the culture ministry on Wednesday, urged for developments in relations with civil organizations in the western world in order to more easily update them on Israeli humanitarian violations in the region.

Yousef pushed for investments in journalism graduates and development in their internet communication capabilities, and for the creation of media center that provides free information to news reporters in coordination with the government’s information bureau.

Yousef stressed the importance of media efforts in confronting the enemy. He said Israel had deliberately made many reporters suddenly disappear for fear of reporting incidents to the world.

“Local media successfully broadcasted incidents and images to the outside world during the Gaza war.”

“Israel planned just before the war to legitimize its aggression through diplomatic tours and preparing the international community for the level of crimes it engaged in during the war.”
