GAZA, (PIC)– Palestinian premier and Hamas leader Ismail Haneyya reiterated his movement’s rejection of recognizing the Israeli occupation or giving up the resistance and its responsibilities for the Palestinian people.

“Hamas, which has become in the heart of the political system, would never leave its position after it was sealed by martyrs’ blood,” the premier highlighted in his speech.

This came during an inauguration ceremony of a book about late former interior minister Sa’eed Siyam held at noon Friday in Gaza in the presence of Palestinian dignitaries and a visiting delegation from Kuwait.

Haneyya outlined some of the traits martyr Siyam enjoyed during his life and hailed his success in building Palestinian security apparatuses on national bases.

In another context, premier Ismail Haneyya on Thursday night made a phone call with Egyptian intelligence director Omar Suleiman and put him in the picture of the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.

Haneyya on the same day also met with the Palestinian interior minister, security officers and a number of ministers and advisors, and discussed with them issues related to the Israeli military escalation against the Gaza Strip and the letter sent by the Egyptian leadership about Israel’s war tendencies.

The premier issued clear instructions to the leaders of security services on the need to sustain the national consensus between the Palestinian factions in Gaza about exercising restraint and preventing the occupation from finding pretexts to escalate its military aggression.
