RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Hamas MPs met Tuesday with the South African embassy in Palestine to discuss conditions affecting Palestinian political representatives.

The delegation included Ayman Daraghima and Fadel Hamdan. They met with the South African Embassy’s First Secretary, Mr. Edgar.

The SA official pledged to follow up the issue with his government.

Israel has imprisoned several Palestinian parliamentarians, threatened to exile Jerusalem MPs, and exiled others.

MP Omar Abdel Raziq was arrested about two weeks ago and has since been subject 15 hour days of interrogation and threatened with administrative detention and imprisonment of loved ones.

The international campaign to free detained representatives is holding Israel responsible for Abdel Raziq’s life.

The Gaza-based group condemned international silence over Israel’s “crimes against democracy”.
