According to an investigation of the incident, the soldiers shot the man after he tried to forcibly make his way through an IDF checkpoint at the Palestinian town of Halhul near Hebron.

On Tuesday, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli soldiers at an army post near the settlement of Mevo Dotan in the northern West Bank.

According to an Israeli military spokesman, the man was shot and killed by soldiers after he opened fire on them.

The circumstances under which the Palestinian was killed are currently being investigated.

Two days ago, IDF soldiers opened fire on two Palestinians approaching the border fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip.

One of the Palestinians was apparently wounded by a shell fired by a military tank.
The Israeli military said that the Palestinians were attempting to plant an explosive device near the border fence.
