Fierce confrontations between Jerusalem residents and IOF troops

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Fierce clashes broke out Friday afternoon between Palestinian youth and the IOF troops and police in the vicinity of the protest tent in the Bustan neighbourhood of the Silwan Jerusalem suburb.

Local sources said that the IOF used tear gas and rubber-coated bullets profusely and randomly.

Hamza Maaji, who is a journalist working with Palmedia, was hit with a rubber bullet in his back and dozens of residents suffered breathing difficulties as a result of inhaling teargas.

The Imam, Imad al-Zaghal, who lead the Friday prayers at the protest tent stressed, during the Friday sermon, the importance of ending the state of internal division and achieving national unity as soon as possible to face the fierce settlement attack occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy places have come under.
