Gaza,January 22 (QNA) – The Israeli occupation forces prevented on Saturday morning Palestinian students in a number of cities near Occupied Jerusalem from going to their schools, Palestinian local sources reported. The sources said that Israeli forces prohibited the residents of Shu”fat refugee camp, Ras Khamis and Ras Shehata from going to work as well, after sealing off the military fence near the Shu”fat camp, which has been witnessing unrest in for three days. The sources quoted eyewitnesses as saying that “the Israeli troops stationed at the fence claimed that the Israeli police issued a court order to seal off the fence after being hurled at with stones from locals, hence putting the Israeli soldiers at risk.” After sealing the wall, hundreds of the camp”s residents and Israeli forces as well as wall guards engaged in violent clashes that lasted until dawn. Meanwhile Fatah official Hatim Abdulqader accused Israel of igniting tension at the camp since it is the only camp within the boundaries of the holy city of Occupied Jerusalem and some neighbouring Palestinian cities. Abdulqader said that the “Israeli soldiers at the wall have been instigating provocative practices against the Palestinians who wait in long lines to get to work.” (QNA) MD
