GAZA, (PIC)– Senior Hamas official Wasfi Qabha said there are attempts by Fatah faction and its authority to distort the image of Hamas leaders abroad through fabricating lies about them.

Qabha told the Palestinian information center (PIC) on Saturday that the accusations and lies made by Fatah officials against Hamas leaders outside Palestine thwarted an initiative to end the internal division.

The Hamas official noted that these accusations took place after Palestinian Islamic figures met lately with head of the de facto government in Ramallah city Salam Fayyad and discussed with him the security situation in the West Bank and the need to respect the Palestinian law and judicial decisions.

In a separate context, Czech media outlets said the claims made by Fatah about a meeting between a senior Hamas official and Israeli intelligence officials are likely to have been unfounded and fabricated news.

Newspapers and different media outlets in Prague on Friday reported analyses and opinions ruling out the occurrence of such meeting between Hamas official Saleh Al-Aruri and Mossad officials, stressing that such meetings flatly contradict with the principles of the Islamic Movement.

The Czech media also reported that Hamas categorically denied one of its officials met with Israelis in Prague.

Newspapers like Mlada fronta Dnes quoted political experts as saying that this meeting did not happen and such news about Hamas was definitely propagated by Palestinian parties affiliated with Fatah.
