NAZARETH, (PIC)– Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman criticized the former Israeli government of Ehud Olmert for not exploiting the “generous” concessions offered by Abbas’s authority.

The Hebrew radio quoted Lieberman as saying on Monday that the documents released by Al-Jazeera TV network on Sunday night on the negotiations with the PA in Ramallah indicated that the Israeli negotiators had failed to reach an agreement despite the “generous concessions” by Abbas and his team.

The office of the former premier Olmert had doubted the accuracy of those documents but would not deny them altogether.

For his part, Islamic Jihad leader Khaled Al-Batesh called for ending negotiations with the “Zionist enemy”, and for strengthening the Palestinian position.

He told the PIC on Monday that Al-Jazeera documents weakened the Palestinian and Arab position and displayed failure of the negotiations process.

He stressed the importance of resorting to resistance as an alternative to negotiations.
