RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Um Saif Salheyyah, sister of captive Haitham Salheyyah who was the victim of an assassination attempt by an Israeli occupation agent who spiked his drink two weeks ago at the Eshel prison, called on human rights organisations to intervene to save her brother’s life.

Fouad al-Khafsh, the director of Ahrar center for prisoners’ affairs, said that the Haitham’s sister complained, during a phone conversation, that her brother was failed by official institutions and human rights organisation, adding that her brother was suffering various symptoms after the attempt of his life two weeks ago. She also said that her brother only had two lawyer visits and that the red cross visited him but did nothing to mitigate his condition.

Um Saif told the Ahrar center that her father visited Haitham in prison and told the family that signs of deterioration of Haitham’s health were very obvious and that as well as a severe loss of weight Haitham was suffering from chest pain and diarrhoea.

Khafsh called on human rights organisations to intervene and ensure that Haitham gets the necessary medical attention he needs to stop his health of deteriorating further.
