Pakistani religious leader condemns Israeli crimes in Gaza
|
iSecretary General of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Liaquat Baloch said that Israel wants to kill Palestinians and the report by English daily regarding Israeli plans in Gaza cannot be termed incorrect.
A report published by the British daily Telegraph revealed that Israel sought to completely destroy Palestinian neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip during its war on the coastal enclave by the turn of 2008.
It indicated that Israeli commanders used to ‘psych up’ soldiers before an operation so that they were ready to shoot indiscriminately.
Liaquat Baloch said that nothing is new in the report ‘we are all aware of the Israeli crimes in Gaza’.
He said that Israel is the root cause of increasing terrorism in the world. “US is protecting Israel because of anti-Islam hysteria”, he observed.
The religious leader stressed for collective efforts of Muslim Ummah to resolve the long-standing issue of Palestine.
Politician was of the view that Muslim Ummah must express unity and determination that is the only way to deter the aggression of Israel. “No doubt Palestine has become a global issue”, he opined.
The Jamat-e-Islami leader criticised the leadership of Muslim world, saying that many leaders of Muslim countries have become tools in the hands of West.
“Egypt is the only available route to the besieged people of Gaza but unfortunately they are not helping innocent people of Gaza”, added the politician.
He said that the struggle of Muslims will continue till the abolition of the discriminatory policies towards Muslims. “Muslims of Palestine should be given equal rights”, he demanded.
Liaquat Baloch said that Israeli violence in Gaza has crossed all limits and they are not even allowing any other country to help the people of Gaza. “The example of freedom flotilla is before us”, he added.
Israel imposed a blockade on Gaza in June 2007, even preventing basic necessities from entering the territory.
Tel Aviv went further to launch an all-out onslaught on the coastal sliver in December 2008-January 2009, killing more than 1,400 Palestinians.
In September 2009, a UN fact-finding team released a report, accusing Israeli military forces of war crimes against the Palestinians during the offensive.
