WEST BANK, (PIC)– Palestinian Authority security agencies have arrested seven Hamas supporters across the West Bank in the past two days.

Four of them were arrested after few day releases from PA prisons.

The arrestees included Nablus city councilman Lutfi Qatluni and his son.

Some arrests may not have been reported because of pressure, threats and pressure exerted by the West Bank-ruling Fatah party.

Thousands of Hamas supporters have been arrested by the PA over the past four years. Documents leaked by Al-Jazeera last week revealed tight security coordination between Israel and the PA.

Two London-based rights groups also issued last week a well-received report on the PA’s torture of Palestinians in its prisons.

Salim Shamasina has been under torture since he was first arrested, sources close to Shamasina’s relatives report.

In a separate context, the PA had set free in that time period about four other prisoners because of deteriorating medical conditions.

Several more had been taken to trial.
