Hamas MPs: Israel’s arrest of our employee will not hamper operations

SALFIT, (PIC)– Hamas MPs in Salfit say the arrest of their office director was intended to harm the operation of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

Israel arrested Tuesday Izzuddin Fattash, who directs the PLC office in the West Bank city of Salfit, after a destructive raid on his home.

A statement by the PLC members says Israeli arrests will not discourage them from serving the people who chose them in fair elections.

The arrest was part of Israel’s targeting of Palestinian officials, their families and workers, a statement by the PLC’s Change and Reform bloc says.

The targeting of MPs will fail as the people embrace the figures they have elected and those representatives hold fast to Palestinian rights without retreat, the statement adds.

Fattash was held by the West Bank-governing Fatah party only a month back.
