RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Palestinian lawmaker MP Abdel Jaber Fuqaha of Hamas’s bloc in the PLC has asserted Thursday that the IOF kidnapping campaign against Palestinian lawmakers makes them more determined to achieve the national aspirations of the Palestinian people. “The Israeli occupation authorities thought it would silence us and isolate us from our people by such kidnapping campaigns but they are wrong in their calculations and thinking because it makes us more determined and more resolute to continue on the path and to achieve the dream and goals of the Palestinian people” said Fuqaha in a statement he made on Thursday after he was released from Israeli jail after 27 months in detention. Furthermore, he revealed that the major concern of the Palestinian captives in Israeli jails is to end the Palestinian political rift and to restore national the unity, stressing that the message of the captives, regardless of their factional affiliation, is that both Hamas and Fatah should remove all the obstacles that divide them and to achieve national unity. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that the security coordination between Fatah’s authority in the West Bank and the Israeli security apparatuses was and still is the biggest obstacle that prevents achieving national unity, stressing that Fatah should put an end to such coordination and to return to the Palestinian mainstream. |
MP Fuqaha: National reconciliation and security coordination are opposites.
