RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Palestinians held at the Israeli Hawara detention center were poisoned after eating breakfast served by the prison on Monday, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said. Several prisoners had suffered extreme stomach pains and diarrhea. They rejected breakfast served the following day complaining of its bad smell and taste. They believed it to be rotten like the previous instance. The prisoners called on rights groups to pressure Israeli prison system to improve the quality of food served to prisoners. Separately, the Israeli Supreme Court denied an appeal made by Hanan al-Barghouthi for permission to visit her brother Nail al-Barghouthi, who has been detained since 1978. The court kept the decision effective based on evidence it claimed was confidential seen by the judges but not disclosed to the defense. |
