GAZA, (PIC)– The Mandela institution catering for Palestinian prisoners affairs has launched international contacts with the aim of establishing a legal committee that would file a complaint against Israel at international courts for violating rights of Gaza prisoners.

The institution said in a statement on Sunday that Israel was depriving relatives of hundreds of Gaza prisoners from visiting their detained next of kin.

It described the ban as a “serious siege” that infringes on rights of prisoners and contravenes the international humanitarian law.

Mandela lawyer Buthaina Dakmak said that the Israeli prison administrations were violating rights of prisoners, describing the visit ban as the most severe penalty.

She called for demanding court rulings against the visit ban and against delay in treating sick detainees, holding the Israeli prisons service fully responsibility for their lives.
