GAZA, (PIC)– Family of Mohammed Zo’rub appealed to human rights groups to pressure the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) into releasing their son who was kidnapped by those troops at Erez (Beit Hanun) crossing north of the Gaza Strip.

A statement by the family on Tuesday night said that Zo’rub, 38, was accompanying his elder sister Hanan, 42, while leaving Gaza for occupied Jerusalem for treatment.

It said that the soldiers detained Mohammed as soon as he entered the crossing and questioned him from morning to evening before holding him in Askalan jail while his sister was allowed to continue her journey for treatment.

The IOF usually blackmail passengers across the Erez crossing to compel them to work as agents in Gaza.

In a similar incident, IOF soldiers manning King Hussein Bridge last week kidnapped student Mohammed Masri, 20, while on his way to Ramallah after crossing from Jordan and turned him in to the intelligence in Ofer jail for interrogation.

Local sources said that Masri was studying medicine in Egypt but opted to return to Ramallah following the upheaval in that country.
