AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– MP Nizar Ramadan has said that inter-Palestinian relations should be based on real national dialog that should be deemed strategic and not seasonal.

Ramadan told the PIC that uniting the nation and ending division should not be mere “bright slogans” but rather should be practiced on the ground.

The lawmaker wondered how would dialog progress while more than 500 Hamas supporters and cadres are held in Ramallah jails and how could elections proceed while Hamas supporters are being detained for posting election publicity material in 2006.

Dialog should progress away from western and Zionist pressures or else it would not breed the hopeful results, Ramadan underlined.

The MP said that priority should be given at present to activating the Palestinian legislative council.
