One Palestinian man killed and another missing in Libya

GAZA, (PIC)– The family of a Palestinian university student from the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis said that they have received news that their son who was a student at the Misrata University in Libya was killed by mercenaries.

The PIC correspondent reported on Friday that Hassan Abu Mustafa (20 years) was killed when he was fired on by what is thought to be mercenaries travelling in a speeding car while he was standing outside his house in Misrata.

The correspondent added that the family  was informed of the death of their son by their relatives and that local people in large numbers called on the family to console them.

The family said that they learnt that their son, who was studying engineering at the university, got shot as he went out to search for his cousin Omar Abdel-Rahman (37)  who was absent from home for three days. There are no news of the whereabouts of Abdel-Rahman.

The Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip has earlier made contact with Egyptian officials asking them to facilitate the evacuation of the Palestinian community from Libya by allowing them to enter Egypt and the response of the Egyptian officials was positive according to a statement by Ayman Taha on Thursday.
