Al-KHALIL, (PIC)– The family of political detainee Mutasim Annatsheh said that the Palestinian authority intelligence apparatus in Jericho city transferred their son to hospital after his health deteriorated. According to his family, Annatsheh suffers from irregular heartbeat as a result of the maltreatement and physical abuse he is exposed to at the hands of PA interrogators. The PA intelligence refused to release the detainee, although there was a decision from the higher court of justice demanding his immediate release. Prisoner Annatsheh is the brother of Al-Qassam martyr Mamoun and has been kidnapped in September 2010 without any guilt or charge leveled against him. His father Tayseer appealed to human rights organizations and the Red Cross to urgently intervene to stop the use of torture against his son and work on having him released and all his brothers in prison. In a separate incident, the PA security militias waged a wide arrest campaign in Tulkarem city after some Palestinian worshipers at Uthman Ibn Affan Mosque denounced last Friday the preacher for delivering a speech glorifying Mahmoud Abbas. Some of the attendees at the Mosque prevented the preacher from completing his speech and many others left the Mosque. Afterwards, the PA militias arrested about 30 citizens who reportedly objected to the speech. Two students were also kidnapped by the militias in the cities of Jenin and Nablus during the last two days. In Al-Khalil city, senior PA officers were seen with Israeli intelligence elements aboard their cars on Saturday evening. The reporter of the Palestinian information center (PIC) said that PA officers aboard Golf cars and Israeli intelligence jeeps were seen near Ras Al-Jura crossroads on their way, probably, to Etzion detention and interrogation center, north of Al-Khalil. |
