BEIRUT, (PIC)– Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir will host March 6 in Khartoum Al Quds International Institution’s eighth conference to discuss affairs in Jerusalem and establish a plan to preserve its identity.

”The conference is expected to be a milestone in Jerusalem activism,” said QII Director-General Yassin Hammoud. ”It is a phenomenon of support and mobilization of potentials for the sake of Jerusalem.”

Since the advent of its occupation of Jerusalem, Israel has been pushing the Muslims out of the holy city amid attempts to replace its Islamic identity with Judaic features.

Separately, ”an evening of marketing charity” will be held on the sidelines of the conference, with a fourth of its proceeds going to projects in Jerusalem’s housing, education, antiquities and other sectors.

QII Board of Trustees chairman in Sudan Dr. Qutbi al-Mahdi had announced during a press conference he held in Khartoum that Sudan had donated 5,000 sq meters of land for Jerusalem developmental projects.

This year’s conference comes amid popular political movements sweeping Arab nations. Hammoud said: ”The conjunction of this conference with the revolutions happening in the region will give it additional importance, because the liberation of the Arabs from oppression and injustice is a necessary prelude to the liberation of Jerusalem from the occupation and injustice.”
